General Information
It can
be difficult to find a quality Turkish education outside of the
Mediterranean, but MEI's program ensures that students in the DC metro
area have a rare and excellent option to incorporate Turkish into their
lives.
Course Descriptions
Elementary
Turkish
In the elementary Turkish courses students will learn to read and write
Modern Turkish (the language of radio, television, and newspaper) as
well as to communicate with native speakers of Turkish on elementary
topics. Focus will be placed on fundamentals of Turkish phonology,
simple sentence structures taught through grammar excercises, and
controlled vocabulary relevant to basic communicative needs of students.
Materials
for this course will be provided by the instructor.
Intermediate
Turkish
In the
intermediate Turkish course, students will analyze complex sentence
structures of the language with an emphasis on extending vocabulary.
The instructor will work to develop in students the basic skills of
reading articles and essays written in Turkish.

for this course will be provided by the instructor.
