Tuition & Fees Minimize

Tuition

  • Language classes (meet twice a week): $395/semester
  • Regional Studies classes (meet once a week): $245/semester
  • Special Intensive courses (meet Saturdays and Sundays): $960/semester

Registration Fee

A registration fee of $35 is required for every term in which you register for a class. Effective May 15, 2008, MEI no longer offers registration discounts for MEI members, though we will honor our prior policies for members who remain eligible under them.

Students enrolling in courses at MEI must be over the age of 18 and have a high school diploma or General Equivilency Diploma (GED). All students coming to MEI from other language programs must make a placement appointment using the calendar below or by calling (202) 785-2710 or sending an email with a contact number to languages@mei.edu.

 

Returning students need to have successfully completed the level below the course for which they register. Please contact the Department with any questions regarding placement.

Auditing a Course Minimize

MEI does not encourage auditing courses as it can have a negative impact on the progression of the class. A student may only audit a course with specific authorization by the Ddirector of the Department.

Makeup Classes Minimize

If a class has to be canceled by a teacher or by the Institute itself, the week following the last day of the session is usually reserved for teachers to be able to make up any classes missed.
