Department Prerequisites Minimize

Students enrolling in courses at MEI must be over the age of 18 and have a high school diploma or General Equivilency Diploma (GED). All students coming to MEI from other language programs must make a placement appointment using the calendar below or by calling (202) 785-2710 or sending an email with a contact number to ffirouzi@mei.edu.

Returning students need to have successfully completed the level below the course for which they register. Please contact the Department with any questions regarding placement.

Auditing a Course Minimize

MEI does not encourage auditing courses as it can have a negative impact on the progression of the class. A student may only audit a course with specific authorization by the Chairman of the Department and this will only be granted under special circumstances.

Makeup Classes Minimize

If a class has to be canceled by a teacher or by the Institute itself, the week following the last day of the session is usually reserved for teachers to be able to make up any classes missed.
