Khamenei: It’s “Sacred” Duty of All Muslims to Fight Israel

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said it is a “sacred” and “collective” duty of all Muslims to fight against Israel. In a message to the 2nd International conference of Resistance Scholars held in the Lebanese capital of Beirut, the supreme leader stressed that Muslims should “diversify” their struggle against the Jewish state.  "Without a doubt, scholarly elites, clerics and politicians, as well as the officials of Muslim countries carry the heavier part of this responsibility; this is a sacred and well-ending Resistance. The Divine promise guarantees definite victory of the resistance," the Iranian leader said. "Your congress today represents part of this vast, public movement. May God help you succeed on this path. I recommend all individuals, who feel the importance of this great responsibility, to continue different methods of fighting against the usurper Zionist Regime."

Comment: According to the Iranian and Lebanese media outlets, more than 200 religious leaders from over 80 countries took part in the two-day conference held in Beirut. The title of the conference was: “True Promise: Palestine between Balfour Declaration and Divine Promise.”

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the event, Ayatollah Mohsen Araki, an Iranian cleric and member of Iran’s Assembly of Experts, said the emphasis of the conference should be on supporting Palestine against Israel. "This conference marks the beginning of a new phase for ending the American colonial power in our region," he added. "Countering Zionism regime's occupations in Palestine and al-Aqsa mosque as well as supporting Palestinian resistance is another goal around which the congress is centered," he continued.
