Dr. Martina Klimesova is an Associated Fellow at the Institute for Security and Development Policy (ISDP) in Stockholm and Programme Manager at Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI). She was previously a Taiwan Fellow at the Institute of International Relations at National Chengchi University in Taipei conducting research on disaster diplomacy and Taiwan's role as a soft power. Her research focus is on conflict management and conflict prevention. Previously, she worked with the project on Conflict Management in Northeast Asia at ISDP and was also in charge of the Institute's external relations. Between 2006 and 2007, she worked as a Junior Research Fellow with the project on Conflict and Security in Asia at the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute & Silk Road Studies Program, a joint transatlantic research and policy center at Uppsala University. She has also worked as an International Civilian Protection Monitor (International Monitoring Team) in Muslim Mindanao in the Philippines, and in summer 2009 she was a Visiting Research Fellow at the International Center for Political Violence and Terrorism Research at RSIS at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.
