Zinah Kareem, a native of Baghdad, Iraq,  joined MEI in 2012 and has taught various elementary Arabic classes and private tutoring.  She recieved her education at the University of Baghdad, College of Law, and from 2000 to 2004 began teaching Arabic to high school students in Baghdad. In 2007, she joined to the Danish Refugee Council in Syria, focusing on helping Iraqi refugees student learn Arabic and culture skills. In 2009, she joined the International Refugees Development (IRD) in Jordan as an Arabic teacher. Upon her arrival to the United States in 2010, Zinah taught Arabic at the Global Language Network (GLN) in Washington D.C.
