Akram Ismail is an independent writer and an active member of the leftist Bread and Freedom Party. From 2009 to 2011, he was a member of the editorial board of El-Bosla magazine, a youth-led publication that represents the voice of the radical democratic left. Born in 1980 and raised in Cairo, Ismail has worked as a mechanical engineer in the energy sector since 2004. He has a series of articles about energy sector in Egypt published in Al-Shorouk Egyptian newspaper and Mada Masr website, in addition to other political writings.
