The Middle East Institute Arts and Culture Center is proud to open "In this Moonless Black Night: Syrian Art After the Uprising," an exhibition showcasing leading Syrian contemporary artists whose work explores the trauma of the past decade through the experiences of ordinary Syrians.

Please join us Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 1pm-2pm for a Zoom live talk and gallery walk-through with curator Maymanah Farhat. The exhibition’s 14 featured artists reflect on the widescale destruction of the country and the plight of its displaced through painting, multimedia, photography, video and installation. In the process, their work helps shape our understanding of the conflict, from the peaceful start of the revolution to the resulting humanitarian crisis.

Please make a timed appointment to visit the gallery or check out the show online when it opens to the public on Monday, March 8. It will run through Friday, July 16 2021.
