Delaram Soltani, a native of Tehran, Iran, received her degree in Teaching English as a foreign language from Azad University in 2000. In 2003, she moved to Los Angeles, California, where she taught English as a Second Language at ORT College. In 2009, Delarum relocated to the Washington, D.C. area to join the faculty of the University of Maryland, College Park as a lecturer for the Persian Language Flagship program. Delarum currently teaches English at Montgomery College in Maryland, and Persian at the Middle East Institute in Washington, D.C. In addition to teaching, she has worked as an author on the Pimsluer Persian language instruction series and as an editor for their Dari and Pashto programs. She has been a certified tester of Persian for the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) since 2012. In her free time, she enjoys reading, learning foreign languages, and spending time in the outdoors.
