Matt Mermel is a program assistant in the Department of Languages and Regional Studies. He holds a master's in linguistics from Georgetown University, where he studied Arabic dialects and phonology. Previously, Matt worked on several different consulting projects with the Jordanian government while living in Amman. Matt works as an Arabic linguist and translator for several D.C.-area organizations, think tanks, and media outlets.
