At the time of this interview, HE Piriya Khempon was Thailand's Ambassador to Amman, Jordan with jurisdiction over Iraq and Palestine. He subsequently was appointed as Thailand's Ambassador to China. Previously, he had served as Thai Consul General in New York. Before that, he held senior positions in the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including as Deputy Director-General of the Information Department. He earned an MSc in International Relations from The London School of Economics and Political Science.
