H.P. Goldfield is vice chairman of Albright Stonebridge Group, a global strategy firm affiliated with Albright Capital Management, an investment advisory firm specializing in emerging markets. Mr. Goldfield also serves as a senior international affairs advisor to Hogan Lovells U.S. LLP, a global law firm with offices in Washington, DC and London. Earlier in his career, as U.S. assistant secretary of commerce for trade development, Mr. Goldfield was responsible for supporting the competitive position of U.S. industries both at home and abroad. He was an ex officio member of the board of directors of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation.
Before joining the Department of Commerce, Mr. Goldfield was a member of the White House staff, first as assistant counsel and then associate counsel to the president. From 1975 to 1977, he served as assistant and law clerk to Philip W. Buchen, counsel to President Gerald R. Ford. In 1976 the president appointed Mr. Goldfield to a four-year term as a member of the National Advisory Committee for Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
Mr. Goldfield graduated from Georgetown University Law Center in 1977 and holds a master’s degree in urban studies from Occidental College. He graduated cum laude from Connecticut College in 1973 with a B.A. in Asian studies. Mr. Goldfield serves on the board of directors of Black & Veatch, the Israel Policy Forum, and the Ethics Resources Center.
