Professor Shahram Akbarzadeh is the convener of the Middle East Studies Forum at Alfred Deakin Institute, Deakin University, Australia. He has held a prestigious ARC Future Fellowship on the role of Islam in Iran’s foreign policy making and is completing a project on proxy wars, sponsored by Carnegie Corporation NY.
