About the Department:
For more than 60 years, the Middle East Institute has been offering unique, engaging, skills-oriented, and affordable instruction in Middle Eastern languages to Washington, D.C. area students and working professionals of all proficieny levels. As a department, we are proud to employ experienced, native-speaking instructors — many of whom also teach at one of D.C.'s many universities and train employees of federal agencies and international organizations throughout the Capital region. Evening classes meet twice weekly in a semi-intensive format for a period of 8 weeks, while instructors tailor more intensive private lessons to meet individual student learning goals.

Location and transportation:
All classes are held at 1761 N Street NW, Washington, DC 20036 located in the Dupont Circle area, easily accessible by bus and Metro on the Red Line. If coming by Metro, exit at the south end of Dupont Circle station, walk down Connecticut Avenue to N Street and turn left. Street parking in the neighborhood is metered until 6:30 p.m.
