The Middle East Institute and The Foundation for Middle East Peace are proud to present a panel debate featuring Dr. Smooha and Dr. As'ad Ghanem, who will be examining the relationship between Israel’s Arabs and the Jewish state and the prospect for their future.
Dr. Smooha and Dr. Ghanem, who both teach at the University of Haifa, have been studying Israel’s Arabs for years, examining Arab citizens’ views of their current status and future in the Jewish state. Their views diverge but they agree that Israel is a deeply divided society and the status of the Palestinian-Arab minority is one of the gravest problems facing the Jewish state.
