
Since earning a Ph.D. from the the State University of New York in Binghamton in 2009 with a specialty in modern Chinese history, Çağdaş Üngör has been teaching in the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Marmara University’s. Üngör spent considerable time in the People’s Republic of China studying Mandarin and conducting research; and subsequently joined official delegations on visits to Asia-Pacific countries as an area specialist. A research associate at Boğaziçi University’s Asian Studies Center, Prof. Üngör contributes to various Turkish journals and newspapers on China-related topics and Sino-Turkish relations. Her academic publications include the co-edited volume Turkey in the Cold War: Ideology and Culture (Palgrave-Macmillan, 2013) and New Horizons in Asia-Pacific Studies (Asya Pasifik Çalışmalarında Yeni Ufuklar, Küre Yayınları, 2020).
