The Middle East Institute (MEI) is pleased to announce a panel discussion featuring three contributors to the Middle East Journal’s winter issue. With under a decade remaining to achieve Saudi Vision 2030, an oil crisis overlaying the Covid-19 pandemic, and regional rivalries and shifts in the wake of the Abraham Accords, the social and economic landscape of the Gulf region is in flux.
The panelists will join a discussion exploring the broader themes of their articles, including globalization and urbanization of Gulf cities, tribal and state relations, and economic engagement with the broader world. This conversation will be an opportunity to examine the conclusions in the context of current socio political events in the region.
