Mohamed el-Shewy is a program officer at the Cairo-based Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights (EIPR), where he focuses on transitional justice and accountability. His work involves establishing and implementing a program of research, advocacy, and outreach on issues of accountability and dealing with the past. His current research interests revolve around collective memory and narratives and how they relate to social mobilization and protest. He holds an MA in human rights from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
