MEI will host another virtual briefing on Wednesday, June 25, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM EDT to discuss the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, in light of yesterday's proposed cease-fire agreement. The speakers will also discuss the recent US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, Iran’s retaliatory missile strikes on a US military base, and prospects for de-escalation. This session will be on-the-record and open to the public.

Vice Admiral Donegan served as Commander of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet and Director of Operations at US Central Command. He has led joint and coalition operations across the Middle East and contributed to major US defense strategies, including maritime security and cyber warfare integration.
Alan Eyre
Distinguished Diplomatic Fellow, Middle East Institute
Alan Eyre is a former senior US diplomat and Iran expert who served as the State Department’s first Persian Language Spokesperson and as a core member of the US negotiating team for the 2015 Iran nuclear deal. He led key regional offices and advised on US policy toward Iran for over two decades.
